Oakland-Craig School
Oakland-Craig Public Schools is committed to empowering students to become successful life-long learners and responsible community members. The junior-senior high school (built in 1950) has 26 classrooms with 226 students. Teacher/Pupil ratio is 1 to 12. A $1.9 million elementary (K-6) school, media center, high school-grade school commons, cafeteria, gymnasium, indoor walking tract and instrumental music room was completed in 1984. There are 13 classrooms with 233 students with a teacher/pupil ratio of 1 to 19.
Post-Secondary Education
Vocational courses are offered in home economics, agriculture, industrial arts and business. The high school offers adult educational courses in cooperation with the Northeast Community College. Oakland Public Library
The Oakland Public Library, (402) 685-5113, was built in 1986 and is handicapped accessible, containing 19,000 volumes and an average annual circulation of 11,390. The library has a summer reading program for children, preschool story time, and two adult reading programs. Internet access is available to the public.
