The Oakland Mercy Hospital, (402) 685-5601, and its associated clinics are committed to providing quality health care to the residents of Burt and surrounding counties by offering a broad spectrum of services and programs enhanced by caring professionals. The hospital is a modern, well equipped, 23 acute/swing bed care facility. The hospital provides a full compliment of services including surgery, diagnostic x-ray, CT scan, stress testing, pulmonary and cardiac rehab, nutritional assessment and counseling, physical and occupational therapy, mobile units-echocardiogram/vascular doppler/mammography, gastroenterology, cardiology, ophthamology, ENT, oncology, orthopedics, pulmonology and podiatry.

 

The Oakland Rescue Squad and Ambulance is comprised of 17 certified Emergency Medical Technicians who receive 50 hours of training annually; eight EMTs are certified to operate the automatic defibrillator.

 

 

Oakland Heights, (402) 685-5683, built in 1974, is a nonprofit nursing home licensed by the State of Nebraska as a Nursing Facility. The 67-bed facility is owned and operated by the city of Oakland. Adult day care; physical, occupational, speech and audiology services; outpatient whirlpools; senior citizen and handicapped bus services; and meals on wheels are also available.
