825 Promotional Punchcards turned in

   Participation in the 2011 Oakland Chamber of Commerce Punchcard Promotion was high according to Chamber Co-President Curt Hineline. “We had 825 punchcards turned in, that is a good increase from the previous two years,” said Hineline.
   Each punch card represented $100 spent in chamber businesses. That equates to $82,500 spent between Thanksgiving and Christmas in Oakland. “Of course more was spent as not all shoppers participated,” said Hineline.
One of the reasons for the increase in cards was the addition of new businesses such as Black Diamond Electronics who, according to owner Jason Parcel, had a great year.
   $1,600 was awarded to weekly winners who received Oakland Chamber Bucks to be spent in a specified Oakland business.
   “On behalf of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce, I want to say thank you to everyone who continues to shop locally. We have some exciting plans for the coming year and every dollar spent in Oakland helps make sure our economy and community stay strong,” said Hineline.
